Empower Your Glow: Mastering Skin Purging for Radiant Resilience.

Have you ever started a new skincare routine and wondered what’s going on, your skin seems worst instead of better.

Let’s dive into the nitty-gritty!

Skin Purging is a skin detox, which will end up revealing your natural beauty.

The possibility of skin purging / break out can be scary, but it is completely normal.

It is your skin way of dealing with active ingredients that are stimulating an increase in cellular turnover.

I know it can be tough to deal with, and it can leave you feeling self-conscious, and a little disappointed that you have spent money on this product, and you feel like it’s not working!

But the truth is that those problems were there already! What causes them you may ask and there are a number of things that can cause it breakouts, like hormonal changes, lack of sleep, stress, poor diet, or excess sebum oil.

The purge has just brought it to the surface Faster, this needs to happen, it is a good thing, your skin may look initially worse but improves in a week or two, everyone’s different.

You just have to stick with it as it is consistently that leads to a radiant glow you are craving.

Identifying Skin Purging: – Increased breakouts, flesh-coloured bumps, redness, and inflammation.

Ingredients that Trigger Skin Purging: – Retinoids, Vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs, Benzoyl peroxide.

How to Minimize Purge Effects:

  1. Don’t Rush the process!

Introduce new products slowly. It will give your skin plenty of time to adapt and adjust as needed.

So, if you are using an anti-aging treatment with retinol, try using it just once or twice a week before gradually increasing the frequency. This will allow your skin to get used to the product and build tolerance while minimizing the chance of skin purging.

2. Be patient and resist the temptation to pick your skin. It is the worst thing you can do during a skin purge. Not only will this increase the time needed to heal, but it also increases your chance of scarring, infection, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. DON’T

3. Change your pillowcases frequently, try satin or silk. Skin care specialists and dermatologists often recommend sleeping on silk to help manage skin conditions.

Silk sheets and silk pillowcases are gentler on the skin of people with acne or sensitive skin. This is because the friction from cotton on sensitive skin can create more inflammation, making acne, eczema, or other skin conditions worse.”

Another reason not to choose a cotton pillowcase for acne. Cotton also sops up the natural oil and bacteria from your face and hair, and that grime accumulates on your pillowcase night after night, creating a bacteria haven on your pillow. Silk pillowcases absorb less of the moisture and dirt, thus can be considered a better choice for people with acne or sensitive skin.

4. Apply sunscreen daily during the purging process. Your skin is at its most vulnerable. Protecting your skin with sunscreen will facilitate healing, calm inflammation, and minimize the red and/or brown marks that linger after acne breakouts.

5. Don’t forget to use your toner because maintaining your skin’s natural PH level will lessen the effects of a skin purge.

6. Gut health is always important. Research shows that a healthy balance of gut microbiota is required for optimal skin health, creating metabolic and immune homeostasis. More research points to how compositional gut microbiota changes have been linked with exacerbating inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and more.

7. Increase Omega-3s, which have anti-inflammatory properties. These fatty acids have the ability to reduce inflammation in the body, which can lead to better skin conditions, especially for those with acne-prone skin.

8.Beauty sleep! Not getting enough sleep exposes our bodies to high levels of cortisol, which can trigger breakouts. Similar to what happens during stressful moments, cortisol releasing hormones can actually bind to your oil glands, which sends them into overdrive and causes acne.

9. Choose foods that don’t have excess levels of acid as it can throw off the skin’s pH levels causing irritations. You may be like me and have a reaction to dairy & gluten, or other types of foods. How diet affects the skin is different depending on the person.

10. Move your body, physical activity helps to even out blood sugar levels in the body, which helps in managing breakouts, go for a daily walk in the fresh air.

“Embracing Imperfection: A New Year’s Resolution for a Happier You”

Imperfectly you….

Hey Glow Circle community,

As we stepped into the New Year, I’ve been reflecting on resolutions. This year, I’m flipping the script and focusing on embracing imperfection. Won’t you Join me on this journey of self-discovery and let’s make 2024 a year of self-love and joy?

Flip the script on the Pressure to be Perfect.

All too often we find ourselves caught in the web of trying to be flawless. From the latest skincare trends to our daily lives, the pursuit of perfection can be overwhelming making us feel tired, stressed and not feeling good enough. But what if, instead of giving up things, we focused on what brings us joy?

Shifting the Focus

Let’s challenge the norm. Instead of dwelling on what we should have done or the mistakes of the past, let’s cut those cords that hold us back. It’s time to redirect our attention to what we love about ourselves and celebrate our uniqueness, I believe that’s where our superpower lives.

Taming the Shadow Whispers

We’ve all experienced those moments of guilt or shame from our past. The shadow whispers that make us quick to judge ourselves and shut down. But this year, let’s silence those whispers and replace them with prayers, meditation and of self-love and acceptance.

A Decision to Thrive

I’ve made my resolution – less pressure for perfection, more appreciation for the journey. What about you? How can you make the decision to thrive in 2024?

These are my Practical Steps for Embracing Imperfection

1. **Celebrate Small Wins**: Acknowledge and celebrate even the tiniest achievements.

2. **Mindful Reflection**: Regularly reflect on positive aspects and growth rather than fixating on perceived shortcomings.

3. **Self-Compassion Practices**: Incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion exercises into your routine.

4. **Letting Go of Shoulds**: Challenge the “should haves” and replace them with affirmations of self-love.

5.**Journaling daily**. To bring clarity and release the resentments.

6.**Prayer**.Take time to prayer and be thankful to God for all the good you have in your life.

So are you ready to love the beauty of your imperfections because they are the brushstrokes that paint the masterpiece of the journey. Let’s make 2024 a year of self-love, growth, and embracing imperfection.

Here’s to a glow-filled year ahead!

With love,
