Journaling, a Powerful tool to help Activate Your Glow Power and Overcome a Messy Menopausal Mind.

Menopause is a natural transition that every woman experiences as she ages. It’s a time of change, both physically and emotionally, and can be a challenging time for many women.

One thing I have found helpful during this transition is journaling. Journaling has been a powerful tool for self-understanding and has helped me cope with the emotional and physical changes that has come with menopause.

When that overwhelming feeling gets the better of you and you feel like you’re are crumbing, writing how you are feeling can clarify all the conflicting feeling you get all at once, and help you understand thing better.

Here are a few ways that journaling can help you during this transition:

• Processing your Emotions

Menopause can be an emotional rollercoaster, and journaling is a safe and effective way to process your emotions. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you identify and work through any fears, anxieties, or frustrations that you may be experiencing.

It can also be a helpful way to track your mood and identify patterns or triggers, which is essential at this time of our life.

• Reflecting on your Life Changes

Menopause is a time of significant change, and journaling can help you reflect on these changes and what they mean for you. Writing about your experiences can help you gain perspective, identify areas of growth, and set goals for the future.

It can also be a way to celebrate your accomplishments and recognize the progress you’ve made, because all too often we don’t apricate how valuable our input is or how many wins we have under our belt. We are too hard on ourselves; this needs to stop.

• Improve Sleep

As I am sure you sleep disturbances are common during menopause, journaling can be a helpful way to improve sleep quality. Writing down your worries and concerns can help you let go of them and relax your mind. You can also use journaling as a way to reflect on your day and express gratitude, which can help promote a cosy warm feeling to give you a more positive outlook so you can stop stressing and have a better night’s sleep.

• Increase Self-Awareness

Menopause can be a time of looking inward, and journaling can be a valuable tool for increasing self-awareness. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help to show you patterns in your behaviour and relationships, as well as gain insight into what you values and priorities you have.

This helps you to increase your self-awareness allowing you to acceptance your wonderful self and help to show yourself some compassion.

• Help you to connect with others

Journaling can also be a way to connect with others who are going through similar experiences. Joining a menopause support group or online community can provide a sense of belonging and validation. Sharing your thoughts with others can also be a way to receive support and feedback.

I have found it really helpful and feel it could be a powerful tool for you to navigate this transition. It can help you process your emotions, reflect on your life changes, improve sleep, increase self-awareness, and connect with others. If you’re going through menopause, consider starting a journaling practice as a way to support your well-being and personal growth.

Have you started your journaling journey yet?

“Feeling Tired? Rundown? Vitamin D, Should Be On Your A-list”

As we start getting older, it’s time to think about vitamin D.

It is known as the sunshine Vitamin, because your skin actually produces it with sunshine.

It’s a wonderful vitamin which plays a central role in many body processes.

And is on the A-list for women during menopause!

Studies have linked it to preventing or helping heart disease, osteoporosis, Diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular Disease, High blood pressure and Obesity.

It has an integral role in the skin protection and rejuvenation and contributes to skin cell growth, repair and metabolism.

It also enhances the skin’s immune system while boosting cell turnover and helps destroy free radicals that cause premature ageing. It can help treat conditions like dryness, acne, psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo.

Vitamin D is unique in that it functions more like a hormone than a vitamin.

Be aware of your intake of vitamin D as you approach menopause because research is discovering its role in the prevention of many diseases and conditions that are more common as you age.

Research has also shown that vitamin D is involved in the production of the hormone melatonin, which helps regulate your circadian rhythm and sleep.

Who doesn’t want a good night sleep?

As estrogen falls, it weakens our bones but vitamin D works to slow down and minimise that process. It helps absorb calcium and building bones, but it is involved in many other processes that protect you from disease and health problems.

If your tired and rundown and you keep getting sick, it could be that your vitamin D is too low. Some studies show that it can help balance your emotions and mood and is considered to be one of the most important vitamins during menopause.

Symptoms of low Vitamin D may include tiredness, weakness, muscle, back and bone pain. You could be more prone to infections. Your skin can be slow to heal! You may feel low, risking you falling into depression.

It is estimated that about a quarter of adults in the UK do not get enough Vitamin D and as the skin gets older it makes less Vitamin D. So, topping up with a supplement can be a good idea.

Sources of vitamin D

• oily fish – such as salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel

• red meat

• liver

• egg yolks

• fortified foods – such as some fat spreads and breakfast cereals

And get a good supplement too.

Let me know if you would like a recommendation.

Recommend intakes are 600-800 IU but check with your doctor to find out what you recommend intake is, as some studies show you may need more depending on certain factors!

You can take a simple blood test at home to check if your levels of Vitamin D are enough and if there not, you can correct it. Taking the test will give you peace of mind that your vitamin D-levels are enough.

It is recommended to take the test every 4 months to monitor your status and adapt your intake and lifestyle according to seasonal variations.

I have felt so much better since topping up my vitamin D.

Do you take vitamin D? Let me know by sending me a message on Facebook or Instagram. I would love to know.

It’s time to massage away tension and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles and enhance our glow.

Taking the time during your nightly routine to massage your skin has so many benefits including relieving stress, anxiety, and improving sleep.

Stress can wreak havoc on your immune system and can cause damage to your skin. The skin is the largest organ in the body, so it is important to take care of it, and one way is through self-massage. It increases blood flow bringing much needed nutrients to the skin, it also pushes toxins through the lymphatic system to flush the out of the body.

Your skin is the largest organ in the body.

By boosting the lymphatic drainage, it can improve your skin tone, texture and help decrease puffiness and eliminate any toxins that may have built up in the skin. It also helps stimulates the production of collagen; the protein responsible for the skin’s elasticity.

It will also brighten your skin to give a healthy glow, so come on let’s take some self-care time every night and show our skin some love by massaging our products into our skin.

Something to remember is that anything you use on your face and body from soap, perfume, lotions, potions and make up gets absorbed into your skin so check your ingredients and make sure they aren’t harmful.

My favourite tools in my hands, Gua sha and my Roller. I use rose quartz, but you can use a jade one too.

Rose quartz crystals are said to stimulate blood circulation, clear away toxins and impurities, and unblock energies connected to the heart chakra.

It is like meditation for your skin.

As it glides over your skin it will relax and calm your muscles, increasing the blood flow to bring oxygen and nutrients to your skin, giving you a more youthful healthy glow and can dramatically improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Just as we carry tension in our neck and shoulders, we also carry a lot of tension in our face, which contributes to the forming of wrinkles.

Rose quartz was used by the Romans and Greeks in their beauty treatments and is known as the love stone and helps promote peace and wellness.

It became popular when the Qing Empress used it on her face to keep her looking youthful and glowing.

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine practice in which a tool is used to release toxins and increase blood flow to rejuvenate the skin.

but using your hands are effective too and you can’t underestimate the power of human touch so whatever tool you choose know It will help your products work better too!

So, after cleansing and applying your balancing lotion, apply your eye cream, then serum to your face, neck and chest with your hands, then apply moisturizer and start massaging with the roller, start at the neck, working your way up to jaw line, over the cheeks and along the forehead, flip it around to the smaller roller for eyes and around mouth, repeating each move three times. Then apply moisturiser.

Some of the benefits are-

  • Improves skin elasticity
  • acne
  • promotes circulation and even skintone
  • Reduces puffiness and wrinkles
  • promotes relaxations and soothe anxiety
  • improves lymphatic drainage
  • Helps skins absorption of serums and creams.
  • Can help relieve sinus pressure.

Tip, keep it in the fridge.

A study showed that 54% of woman reported more supple skin after taking time to massage their skin, and 50% felt their skin tighter. So, it’s time to massage away that tension and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles and enhance our glow.

Do you take the time for a self-care massage? Let me know in the comments. I would love to hear from you, send me a message on Instagram or Facebook and let’s chat or if you have any questions. I am here to help you glow.

As always sending you love and support.

Vitamin B ,Its a must during Menopause to boost your mood and your energy.

Vitamin B Complex is vital in maintaining good health and wellbeing, it is a water-soluble vitamin and has direct impact on your energy levels, brain functions, cell metabolism and hormones.

It plays an important role in the creation and activation of estrogen in the body, the hormone that plays a vital role in the sexual and reproductive development in woman as well as skin, hair, brain and more. B vitamin complex helps prevent infections and support healthy cells.

Low levels of Vitamin B complex can increase anxiety and irritability.

If your levels are low your body doesn’t handle stress well, which can increase during perimenopause and menopause. It can cause you to feel tired and lack lustre. As we age our digestion changes and we can absorb less of vitamin B, and we may need a supplement, but always check with your doctor.

I used to get extremely tired. I felt like I was hit with a bus most morning and suffered from bounding headaches but since I have upped my Vitamin B intake I don’t have as many headaches, and I have so much more energy but that was just part of my lifestyle changes to a healthier me. It is important to take ownership and be curious about your health.

“It’s Your Day….International Womans Day”.

You have probably heard its international woman’s day today, and it’s important to use it to promote womans health and wellbeing especially now where it is becoming increasingly hard to be celebrated as a woman.

It all started with the Socialist party of America. They celebrated the first national womans day in New York. Woman were fighting for better working conditions and for an increase in wages. It’s strange how we are still fighting this battle today. Then in 1910, Clara Zetkin womans rights advocate proposed the idea of a global international day.

The first international womans day started on March 1911, there was more than a million woman who took part from Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland but it took until 1975 before the United Nations to not only recognize it but to celebrate “Woman”.

The symbol for it is the female gender symbol with the colours purple, green and white.

Purple is for dignity and justice; green is for hope and white is for purity. The colours originated from the womans socialist and political union in the Uk in 1908.

There is a day’s theme every year since 1996, the theme that year was “celebrating the past, planning the future” and last year it was highlighting gender bias. This year it is #embraceequality

Embracing equality for menopausal woman needs more focus, I know that is hard because unless you are a WOMAN who has or is going through menopause it can be hard to understand never mind explain to others, we need to come together and keep raising awareness, keep sharing our stories and keep supporting each other.

Use today to support womanity could just be a quick hi or a hug, give her a shout out online or take a friend or colleague for coffee.

We also should take this time to stop judging “her”, until you have walked in “her” shoes, you don’t know what she has had to deal with or what she is going through right now just like others don’t know what you are going through.

We were taught to put a brave face on and smile, that smile can hide so much pain and suffering and we just don’t see it. Instead, let’s s just be a trusted confidante or someone who offers a helping hand to ease some of the pressure because let’s face it, we are living in a crazy world with so much confusion and people don’t seem to care as much. I find that sad.

Meriela Dabbah who is the founder of #theredshoemovement a movement that helps others learn from each other said “Woman who support another woman is confident, generous and visionaries.”. I love that and that’s my aim, so if I can support you let me know.

Some ways we can help each other.

  • Learn more about symptoms
  • Keep talking
  • Dont have expectations
  • Give a complement to show her she is still fabulous
  • Dont feel guilty
  • Dont doubt her experience.
  • Be supportive and kind to others and to yourself.

If you haven’t yet, come and join us in the high vibe menopause cafe.

Share the support and kindness.

Gratitude! A way to look younger. And its Free.

Use gratitude to glow, yes, it is 100% true. Studies have found that when woman practice gratitude, we experience a number of health benefit, all associated with a healthy glowing skin.

I want to help you make this a part of your daily routine. You might be sitting thinking that you don’t have much to be grateful for but that’s not true. There is always something to be grateful for, you woke up this morning, that itself is something to be thankful for because others won’t open their eyes to start this day!

So, there must be a reason YOU have. Why is that? Thats a question for you to reflect on in your journal.

Here my Glow Journal to help kick start your Gratitude Journey

I have been focusing on journaling for a while now. It is something I recommend all the time because it has had such an impact on my self-awareness, my goals and where my focus goes.

We all know it’s not just your skin care routine that makes a difference to our skin’s health.

  • Stress
  • Diet
  • Environment
  • Hydration
  • Sleep
  • Medication
  • Health problems

And more can have an impact on how healthy our skin is.

So how does it? work.

When we start to practice being thankful, our bodies experience a number of changes that occur in our body, it improves our bodies functions, and that helps improve our skin.

When we don’t get enough sleep, it stresses our bodies, stress impacts our collagen production, for example excess cortisol can accelerate the loss of collagen and elastin, the proteins that are responsible for healthy glowing skin.

Stress can also cause an inflammatory response to the body, and if you suffer from –

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Hives
  • Psoriasis
  • Rosacea

It can cause flare ups. A study in 2008 found that adopting and “Attitude of Gratitude” lowers levels of stress and depression.

A study in 2011 showed that participants who had trouble sleeping, because their mind was racing, going over the day’s worries, that after taking just 15 minutes to write in their journal, expressing gratitude were able to sleep better.

We need a healthy functioning immune system to repair and regenerate a healthier younger looking skin. Research has linked gratitude with optimism, and optimism with a stronger immune system and taking care of yourself better.

What’s more attractive than a glowing confident woman?

In 2014 a study found that athletes who had higher levels of gratitude also had a higher self-esteem, so if you’re not quite feeling your best, it is worth a try. I know it can be hard to start but start small, be grateful for the small things, also try reframing your thoughts.

Notice your thought, have you ever gone for a 1-1 with your boss, and had lots of praise but the was just one small criticism and instead of feeling good about the praise you focus on the criticisms which overtakes everything, and you end up telling yourself you’re not good at your job, your boss hates you? Now these thoughts will come up but it about learning to recognise them and reframe them.

Without judging ask yourself is this thought true or helpful. Ask yourself some questions. What exactly was said? Why have I only focused on the negative? They answers will give you the clarity you need, then learn to replace the shadow thought with a helpful though.

Like, I am thankful for the praise and recognition my boss gave me, I have worked hard, and I have a few little things I can work on to improve my success.

As I said it isn’t easy but it’s like a muscle, if you exercise it every day it gets stronger.

Do you have a daily practise you love or are you just starting, let me know. I would love to hear about them.

So, lets glow inside and out by being grateful.

Sending love and support

Now, can your habits help.

Our habits can influence how your body ages and how we feel. Poor habits can cause us to lose our motivation and our potential; it can also lead to premature ageing, having a lack of energy and can cause illness.

Menopause is a time for self-assessment, to be aware of what we need to change, adapt to help ourselves be healthier and happier.

Heading into our 50s isn’t the end of the world or the end of our lives. We are not too old to change direction or kick start a new journey, it’s a time to focus on our health and wellness and happiness, we still have plenty of years left in the tank. We can still reach for our dream’s whether that be traveling to exotic places, paying of our mortgage early or being our own boss.

It’s up to us to be aware, to educate ourselves, then make the changes needed to be not only healthy but to thrive and live a joyful life.

What habits have you got that could be stopping you from being healthy?

  • Not moving for long periods
  • Carrying extra weight
  • No sense of purpose
  • Eating unhealthy foods and too. much sugar
  • Excess alcohol
  • Low vitamin D
  • Too much sun
  • Stress

So, try to create new habits to help you look and feel younger.

  • Drink more water.
  • Eat more whole foods, increasing your vitamins, minerals and Omega 3s.
  • Drink less Alcohol or none at all.
  • Move your body.
  • Restful sleep
  • Avoid excess sun exposure.
  • Don’t smoke.
  • Go outside.
  • Laugh more!

Getting older is part of life but looking tired, being stressed or feeling sluggish doesn’t have to be.

You want to feel as good as you can. But that is a lot easier said than done.

It starts with a decision to stop feeling so crappy! Only you can do it, but it is good to have support along the way.

How do we start a new habit?

Lasting changes only comes when we decide to have a regular or daily habit, it is said to create a new habit you have to have a tigger to remind you to do it, then a reward for doing it

I use the 3 P’S-Prompt-Practice-Present

So, I set a specific time or place set for my new habit, I normally set a reminder on my phone, and when that alarm goes off, I practice my new routine/habit then once I have completed the task, I give myself a present to celebrate.

So, for example I take my supplements daily, I put my them next to my eggs in the kitchen, so that when I am making my breakfast in the morning, they are a visible prompt for me to take them, and if after I have taken my vitamins regularly for 5 days, I reward myself with a small treat.

Or say I want to stop skipping my eye cream, I place it next to, my toothbrush so that when I go to pick up my brush, I see my eye cream and know I need to pop it on, if after a few days of being consistent I can get a treat.

Stacking habits on top of other excising habits is a great way to add consistency to a new routine until it becomes a habit.

But you have to be patient and kind with yourself because it isn’t easy to create a new habit, you have to have a strong “why”(the real reason you are doing it) so you can keep reminding yourself of it and keep going.

Are there any new habits you are going to start? I would love to hear what they are, comment below or send me a message on Instagram or Facebook, I would love to chat with you.

Start by asking yourself what you want to achieve and changing one or two habits at a time.

Use your journal to keep a track of your goals, and desires and to understand how you are feeling.

Don’t let time pass you by and regret not taking care of yourself or going for your dreams. You deserve them.

As always sending love & support

Feel the fear and add more lipstick!

Feel the fear and add more lipstick!

I love wearing lipstick.

Did you know that the ancient Sumerians, where possibly the first to invent lipstick, the used to crush gemstones and use then to decorate their faces. Egyptians like Cleopatra crushed bugs (Carine) to create a colour of red on the lips.

In the 16th -century, during the time of Queen Elizabeth, it was fashionable to have white faces and bright red lips make of beeswax and red stains from plants. It was only the upper-class woman and male actors wore make-up in those times.

At the end of the 19th century, Guerlain, a French cosmetic company began to manufacture lipstick.

The first commercial lipstick had been invented by 1884, by perfumers in Paris. It was wrapped in beautiful silk paper. By the early 1900 it was fashionable to wear lipstick as it is today.

Woman like Elizabeth Arden and Estee Lauder started selling lipstick in their salons. In 1912 thousands of supporters in the suffrage movement marched past Elizabeth Arden salon, she supported the cause by handing out red lipsticks to the marching woman, how fabulous was that.

The bold red was a symbol of rebellion and liberation!

Until red lips were popularised in the early 20th century, red lips were a sign being amoral and not something you wanted to be seen wearing but during World War II, wearing red lipstick was classed as an act of defiance against Hitler who was reported to hate hated red lipstick.

There is also something called the “lipstick effect “that hints that when we are faced with economic crisis people are still willing to buy less costly luxury goods like lipstick instead of buying expensive bags etc. Leonard Lauder coined the term, when he announced that despite the economic recession, lipstick sales skyrocketed in 2001.

I think it has a feel-good factor to it to, it makes you feel pretty and more confident which is very powerful tool.

As you get older and peri menopause starts kicking in, a touch of your favourite lipstick can help you get through a tough day, it not going to solve all your problems but when you look in the mirror, you look brighter and that makes you feel more ready to take on the day, we all need a little helping hand now and then.

Coco Chanel said, “If you are sad, add more lipstick and attack.”

Try to find a colour to match your undertone in your skin so you don’t look washed out or too ruddy.

If you have a cooler undertone, try lipsticks with purple, blue and silver bases, they will look amazing. If you have warmer tones, then orange/reds or rusty tones will make you pop.

But to be honest if you like a colour then go for it! it washes off and it is all about you feeling good. I have spent many years helping woman to look and feel their best, it always saddened my heart when I had a client and she really love my bold lips but didn’t feel confident to wear it herself.

I have heard all the excuses, I am too old, I am too pale, I will look like a clown, normally after all the excuses and by the end of the make-up, and we had chatted through her fears, mostly it was just a fear of what others thought!

After listening their concerns and encouraging them to just feel the fear and wear it anyway, they would look in the mirror and smile, and that smile was the best part of my job. To see a spark of confidence blossoming in a woman makes my heart happy.

There is no easy way and there’s no secret sauce to confidence. It all about putting systems in place like journaling, understanding your thoughts but not allowing your thoughts to control you, and to just go for it. If you make a mistake, you learn and grow.

Remember without the so-called failures or mistakes you wouldn’t be the person you are today!!!!!!!

Think about that for a few minutes!

Give a woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world! rant over….

Always use a lip liner to define your lips as it will give structure to the lips.

I must own over a hundred lipsticks; I love matching the colours to my outfits or my mood. I just adore pink, but I do love a bold red!

My top two brands are mac, Estee Lauder. Top 2 lip liners are Mac, Urban decay, still on the hunt for fantastic lipstick and liners, so I am always open to suggestions!!!

My number one lipstick colour is Mac, Pink Nouveau, I always keep a spare. It is a beautiful cream satin formula, it has a soft cushiony feel and gives good coverage with a long-lasting finish, will suit most skin tones. I pair it with Soar for more of a contrast or rosy rim to blend.

2nd Powerful by Estee Lauder, lovely creamy texture with medium to full coverage. I pair it with Urban decay 24/7 vegan liner in Anarchy, which is a bit brighter than the lipstick, but I love the contrast.

My top red at the moment is Mac Lady Danger-Creamy, full coverage matte finish and Estee Lauders Boldface, it’s a medium to full crème finish.

Remember to exfoliate your lips and keep them hydrated, I always use my serum and eye cream around my lips and massage with my rose quartz roller. Then use lip liner to define my lips, dab the lipstick instead of swiping, blot with a tissue, reapply.

I like to add a little power to my lips to seal the deal.

I would love to hear your thoughts, come and say hi on Instagram or drop me a comment.

Lipstick has its own holiday. National Lipstick Day is the 29th of July.

Have a happy lipstick day!

Glow beauty Glow.

Is your heart bursting with health this valentine’s day?

We know that when menopause hits, a woman’s body gradually produces less estrogen than it used to.

But did you know that it can increase the risk of the coronary arteries narrowing whereas it previously protected the lining of the artery walls reducing the build-up of plaque?

Estrogen can offer some protection against coronary artery disease, therefore reducing the risk of a heart attack.

It also helps to control your cholesterol levels to reduce the build-up of fatty plaque inside your artery wall.

As we get age our blood vessels can become stiffer, caused by high blood pressure. This is a risk factor associated with heart attacks and stroke.

This was me, menopausal, overweight and extremely tired my blood pressure was far too high, and my doctor wanted me to take medication, but I felt I wanted to do it naturally, it was hard, and it was a constant cloud above my head, it was hard to push through that but the realisation that you are heading for a stroke, heart attack or worse gives you the fear! Leading me to change my habits and the right kind of supplements really paid off and I am glad I stuck with it.

I remember the headache, I felt it from the back of my neck to the front, it was a strange pulsing feeling, and sometimes I couldn’t catch my breath, my chest felt tight, and I seemed to get nosebleeds at night.

I still monitor my blood pressure but instead of doing it every couple of days, it’s maybe once a month.

They say that normal blood pressure is 120/80
Raised is above 120-129 and the bottom is below 80
Stage 1 Hypertension 130-139/80-89
Stage 2 Hypertension 140+/90

So, when was the last time you checked yours?

It’s a good idea to do regular checks, it is called the “silent killer because you might not have symptoms until it’s too late or you might just put that headache down to stress!

It’s a good idea to get your cholesterol checked too as your bad cholesterol can rise and your good can decline to cause the formation of plaque in your arteries which can lead to a stroke or a heart attack.

Some other signs that your heart is under pressure are.

• Belly fat
• High blood sugar
• Depression
• Disrupted sleep

After 50 have an annual check up and keep your eye on your-

  • Cholesterol
  • Blood sugar
  • Blood pressure
  • Vitamin D
  • Weight
  • Omega 3:6 balance

Testing gives you peace of mind, that you are heading in the right direction. Also, talk to your doctor about HRT, if you’re like me and can’t take it then opt for a healthy lifestyle, really even if you are taking HRT you should be opting for a healthy lifestyle, we hand probably another 30-plus years left to go and we want it to be amazing, we want to be able to move and enjoy life, the saying goes.

“Move it or lose it”.

I say don’t lose it. Stretch and be active every day, eat well drink plenty of water. Cut down or cut out alcohol. Take the right supplements for your body. It is so hard to get what we need from our food nowadays.

10 foods to love your heart.

• Olive oil
• Berries
• Avocados
• Green leafy vegetables
• Salmon
• Whole grains
• Soy
• Tomatoes

It’s called second spring, but we need to be a tornado of support for each other.

I know how you are feeling. You are tired, drained, and generally feeling low. Menopause is a very confusing time and believe me you aren’t going crazy! Every day can be a struggle.

You are not alone.

You ask yourself what is going on with me? And what is Menopause.?

Menopause is a point in time 12 months after your period ends, it lasts for one day then you’re in post menopause but commonly it is referred to as menopause. Now the years leading up to menopause is normally called perimenopause.

The transition is normally between 45 and 55 but it can start from a young age. This stage can last between 7-14 years, but everyone is different. It is a crucial time to look after yourself and change any unhealthy habits.

So, during perimenopause our bodies change, the hormones estrogen and progesterone begin to fluctuate. Every woman experiences this transition differently. Our bodies start to use our energy supply in a different way. We may gain weight and we can experience changes in our heart and bone health.

Always check in with your doctor and get checked out, don’t be scared to as all your question and don’t leave until they are answered. Always do your research, join a support group or talk to a friend.

One of the first signs that you are transitioning is a change in your period. They may not be as regular as the normally are, they may be shorter or last longer or shorter and the flow could be more or less than normal.

Another sign is hot flushes which can last years, Its sudden blast of heat that rages through your body. Your neck and face, chest, and sometimes your upper arms can feel hot, and it looks blotchy, followed by sweating and a cold shiver.

Some other signs

  • Bladdler control
  • Sleep problems
  • Vaginal dryness
  • mood changes
  • Body odour
  • Stiffness
  • Joint pain

So, take care of yourself. We are always so busy trying to be everything to everyone, you don’t set time aside for yourself. Your self-care is so important, you probably thinking oh yes, a Sunday pamper with a warm bubble bath and a nice face mask, and I am good to go, but it is much more than that and it is important that you take care of yourself holistically.

When you are aligned and energised your confidence is boosted allowing you to have faith in yourself. But when you are unbalanced, you feel alone and trapped in self-doubt.

It is time to step into your glow power and to use your passion to make a difference in this world, you don’t have to put too much pressure on yourself, just go at your own pace but keep going. and don’t let that inner voice stop you because it is telling you you’re not good enough, you will never achieve your dreams.

Don’t listen!

You’re not alone and you are good enough!

Now is the time for you to take care of yourself, you have the support you have been looking for. It is time to take that leap into believing and achieving a healthy glow inside and out. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Let me know how you are feeling, drop a comment or connect on socials.

Sending you Love & Support

Helena
